We focus on creating a viable pathway to leadership positions in the food justice movement via skill-building workshops and bridging intergenerational relationships with local community gardeners, urban farmers and leaders. Turkey Giveaways & Free Thanksgiving Meals
helpNYC is compiling a Turkey Giveaways and Free Thanksgiving Meals campaign for New Yorkers who are food insecure and need low-barrier food assistance.
Listings are updated daily as programs register their events. The events listed are verified and low-barrier.
If you're in need of holiday food assistance please access the programs and organizations below to receive assistance. Also, check our Food Assistance section for more information on other programs that can help you with getting food.
MUTUAL AID GROUPS: If your programming hasn't been able to be listed on the helpNYC.info Resource Navigator in the past, please submit your Thanksgiving event. The listing criteria for campaign-based listings like the Thanksgiving and winter holidays listings do not require you to have a regular distribution schedule or brick and mortar location. So, please do register your event with us!
Youth + $$$ + Sustainable Food Systems
What is the Sustainability Challenge?
Cultivating a more sustainable tomorrow starts with today’s young minds. Chipotle with Earth Force bring you the Sustainability Challenge, where young people take action to improve their local food systems through choosing community-based projects like bringing more organic food to their schools or creating local composting initiatives to improve their neighborhood’s soil health. The top thirty submissions have the chance to win up to $1,000 - and funding for action projects too!
Need to Know: Visit earthforce.org/csc to get started - apply by March 31, 2022.
